What can be documented
Four outcomes from 38 respondents.
Organizer reports at least 109 people attended, possibly more. No formal attendance count was taken.
Anonymous voluntary survey within 24 hours; 38 of 109 registrants responded (34.9%).
38 of 38 post-event respondents rated the workshop engaging and stimulating.
These are self-reported survey responses, not measured technical competency or results for the entire audience.
Inside the workshop
Demonstrate. Rotate. Practice.
Cardiothoracic surgeon demonstration of surgical aortic valve replacement, physician assistant commentary, porcine-heart valve implantation practice, suturing and knot tying. The program used supervised stations so learners could rotate through hands-on activities.
The event was educational; survey participation was optional and independent of admission to the workshop.
Methodology
Transparent evidence.
The supplied unpublished research draft describes an IRB-exempt, single-institution, anonymous survey study. It collected 38 pre-workshop responses, 38 immediate post-workshop responses and nine follow-up responses at four to five weeks.
Surveys were unpaired, participation was limited, and there was no comparison group. Changes in cardiothoracic-surgery career interest were not statistically significant. We do not claim proven clinical skill gains, improved specialty match outcomes or academic endorsement.
